This dramatic series tells about two gay friends Vince and Stewart who living on a mix of sex, drugs and clubs. Both friends are 29 years old. One night, Stuart discovered that 15-year-old boy named Nathan, who brought him back to his apartment where they made love. After a short while, Nathan begins to pursue Stuart, but Stuart thinks of Nathan only as a normal person among many who met him as usual.
It was steamy to say the least, but the narrative was incredibly compelling and original. Following the lives of three gay men...Queer as Folk was revolutionary television--mainly because the characters felt like real people.
It ultimately succeeded not because it was the first truly prominent gay drama on the air, but because it was a character-driven show that tackled a lot of ground in a very short time.
A brilliantly brief series that came in, rearranged the furniture, splashed the walls with colour and then f---ed off. Punk TV at its most deliciously boisterous and subversive.
