The movie tells of a huge ball of furry creatures from another world that seems to change course and make lunch from the locals in an agricultural town. Now, the family living on the farm is facing a bad path as they try to seek help from a local drunk and his friends who are hunting the rewards.
Critters as a franchise has nothing on the Nightmare on Elm Street films, but it's proven popular enough with Gen X-ers who forward "You know you're a child of the '80s if..." emails to all their office mates.
A variety of modest but well-executed special effects enlivens the otherwise run-of-the-mill effort about carnivorous aliens terrorizing a farm. The farm wins.

Low-budget '80s horror-comedy has violence, cursing.
