Paul Leahy, portrayed by Mike Butters, first appeared in Saw I, during his Razorwire Maze trap in which he had to escape a maze of Razorwire and escape through a door in 2 hours before the door to the outside would close, and lock forever. The reason for him being chosen, was that Paul had taken a straight razor across his wrists and then admitting himself to the Angel of Mercy hospital close to the time John had learned of his cancer. John had believed this was more of a cry for help than a suicide attempt.The ironic part of the trap was that in order to live, he would have to cut himself again getting through the razorwire, which was actually a small cage lined with the wire. Paul finally died of blood loss from the razorwire, which had cutten so deep, the authorities had found traces of stomach acid on the floor where Paul had died.Paul also makes a brief appearance in Saw IV, shown leaving Jill's Drug Clinic.
