In this series, Karen Gillan plays Eliza Dooley, a woman obsessed with social media where she constantly posts selfies. She begins to worry that being famous online would never give her a real friendship, and she seeks help from Henry Higgs, a marketing image master.
Not that I expect Selfie to ever be all that deep, but I think it could have some substance beneath its awkward comedy and visual gimmickry and general dislike of its own characters.
The best thing it has going for it is its status as the fall's best new half-hour comedy, and that's in large part due to the highly entertaining dynamic between its leads.
