Enjoyed with his ability to read the thoughts of people and knowing if they are liars or not through their body language and behavior, Dr. Daniel Pierce, a great neuroscience professor, makes his mind to make the best use of his gift by helping his former student, who is now a detective, in solving the most difficult cases.
McCormack is terrific in Perception, which pushes him far beyond his sitcom to play a character who is not entirely likable...His show, on the other hand, isn't so terrific.
Perception lacks the wit, sidebar repartee or enigmatic withholding that makes shows like Monk, The Mentalist or Castle pleasant, if undemanding, viewing.
