The life of Avinash, an ambitious guy, who dreams of being a photographer, but according to the will of his father, he works in the field of IT, has been changed completely, when he goes on a journey to Kochi, in order to restore the body of his father, who has been died in an accident and his body is falsely taken to another family.
The film, to its credit, recognizes here that a road trip is little more than a memorable car ride. Perhaps even the director recognizes that the adventure, in fact, lies within - as opposed to the actual physicality of a journey.
Karwaan is a bittersweet, tender and hilarious road trip film about life and death, fathers and their children; featuring three empathetic central performances by Irrfan, Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar.
Karwaan stays on the surface. Which, it must be said, is beautiful - this film will make you want to book a trip to Kerala. But it could have been much more.
