David Copeland, Brief Professional Biography David Copeland first appeared on the professional acting scene with the Theater Company of Boston's production of Arturo Ui' which starred Al Pacino. Upon arriving in NYC, Mr. Copeland quickly landed work with Gerome Ragni & James Rado's musical workshop 'YMCA' and with the Theater of The Ridiculous musical production of 'Heaven Grand In Amber Orbit' at La MaMa ETC. David has performed sketch comedy on Late Night w/David Letterman. Live w/Regis & Kathy Lee, Saturday Night Live, The Gordon Elliot Show, Viva Variety on Comedy Central, MTV, and Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien. He is proud to have stunt doubled Woody Allen, Rick Moranis, Howie Mandel, Andy Richter, Gordon Elliot, Joe Pesci and even Julianne Moore! Running the gamut from actor, to director, to professional stuntman & stunt coordinator, David has performed in close to One Hundred National and Regional commercials. He has appeared as a principal TV player on As The World Turns, (in-which he also worked as the in house Stunt Coordinator for more than a decade) The Guiding Light, Another World, Loving, Search For Tomorrow, The Edge of Night, Now & Again, The Equalizer, and The Sopranos. Film credits include The Warriors, Fort Apache The Bronx, Raging Bull, The Soldier, Enemy Territory, So Fine, A Midsummer's Night Sex Comedy, Ghostbusters, Serendipity, Birth & Jersey Justice. As a member of the Workshop Theater Company and the Players Club, he appeared and directed dozens of plays. Among his favorite roles are King Alonzo in 'The Tempest' (two different productions) at the 42nd Street Workshop, twice playing Nicolai Stakov in 'On The Eve' once at the 42nd Street Workshop and then at the Neighborhood Playhouse, and Eddie Carbone in an exclusive presentation of 'A View From The Bridge', which he also directed at the Players Club and The Workshop Theater Company. David directed and acted in the Off Broadway hit 'Monster' at the Jose Quintaro Theater. He directed the original musical 'King of Fuh' as well as two workshop productions of 'American Buffalo' playing Teach, to packed house's at the Players Club. In 2014 he played Artie Shaw in 'Artie Shaw & His Cinderella's' at The Dramatist Guild Friday Night Series, Detective Petit in 'Down Boy' at The Actors Studio Spring Presentation, and the romantic lead role of Bill in 'Plane Love' at The Players. He is a current member of Actors Equity, SAG-AFTRA, Stage Directors & Choreographers and is the President of The League of Independent Stuntplayers. Mr. Copeland is a graduate of The College of Fine Arts at Boston University. In December 2007, Boston University College of Fine Arts, named its first Black Box Theatre in honor of him.
